Dowell & Martin Funeral Home was founded as the Sparks Funeral Home in 1951 in the Old W.J. Sparks home place on West Main Street in Mt. Vernon and serves all of Rockcastle County and surrounding areas including Livingston and Brodhead.

We are a full service facility offering traditional funeral services, visitation/same day services, graveside services, package services, cremation and memorial services, as well as pre-arrangement services. We offer visitation rooms, a large spacious chapel with seating capacity of 250, private arrangement office and selection room and coffee lounge, all designed with a "Home-Like Atmosphere". We also have a covered carport for family and friends and ample parking.

Dowell & Martin Funeral Home offers services in a dignified professional and caring manner with four licensed Funeral Directors on staff and over 135 combined years of experience.
